Fireflies

Fireflies is an interactive light projection that plays on the behaviour of the audience. Depending on the interaction from the audience, the fireflies' "personalities" will alter to respond.

Fireflies used an Xbox Kinect (v1) and processing to track the audience's movements and make the fireflies respond accordingly. By default, the Fireflies become frantic and turn red. When somebody starts to interact, they will slowly calm and start to follow the user. Once fully befriended, they will randomly generate a 'song' for the user created in Max MSP
